Revolutionising the construction industry: Jason Howden, CIO at Revizto
PBC Today sat down with Jason Howden, Revizto’s new CIO, to discuss his success in the industry, digital automation, and what’s next for Revizto.
A leading expert in technology for the built environment, Jason Howden has been at the vanguard of the field for 30 years.
He has consulted on some of the largest public service facilities in New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom, including hospitals, laboratories, prisons, and airports, with project values ranging from $100m to over $2bn.
Describe your experience in construction and how you achieved success in the industry
Jason’s lifelong immersion in the construction industry has enabled him to spearhead the development, promotion, and education of emerging technologies around the world.
Career highlights include delivering successful projects for clients, but more recently, inspiring the next generation of construction professionals through several university masters and PhD level mentoring programmes.
Can you explain a little about your new role as CIO at Revizto?
As Revizto’s global Chief Innovation Officer, Jason Howden is eager to work with Revizto’s diverse clientele, Revizto’s executive, software development, and customer success teams.
Jason is committed to promoting the use of digital technologies and implementing advanced digital automation in Revizto’s clients’ projects, ultimately increasing project efficiency and profitability.
Jason’s areas of focus include digital innovation, strategy, product development, and customer success workflows and optimisation.
How can Revizto help clients to implement advanced digital automation in their projects?
Historically the construction industry has been slow to adopt digital technologies, often plagued with inefficiencies and waste often due to unforeseen rework caused by poor coordination.
Revizto has invested heavily in the development of digital coordination automation and bringing next generation gaming technology to the construction industry to improve and streamline the construction process.
This investment is now being utilised by design and construction organisations around the world to realise significant efficiencies in the delivery of construction projects reducing the risk of rework related to poor coordination in their clients’ projects.
How does Revizto’s integrated collaboration platform connect architects, engineers, contractors, and owners?
At the core of the Revizto platform is next generation gaming technology that was purpose built to bring people together in a shared digital environment (SDE).
Gaming technology was necessary to cope with the scale and complexity of large infrastructure and construction projects whether it is delivering the digital data in a design office on a PC, or on construction site via an iPhone Revizto does this with ease and elegance.
Our bespoke technology is now, for the first time in my 30-year career, enabling diverse project teams to work as one integrated collaborative team, enabling, and promoting the people behind the projects to focus on solving the ‘big’ challenges (climate change, inflation, supply chain etc) in the delivery of modern construction projects.
Where do you see Revizto in the next few years? Are there any interesting products or launches in the pipeline that you can share?
As an innovative technology company, we are always looking to the future and how we can provide new solutions to assist our clients further in the delivery of the built environment.
Like our clients we are passionate about the environment and how the built infrastructure fits into it. We see numerous opportunities for Revizto to play a significant role in assisting our clients design and delivery low-carbon infrastructure.
By harnessing our collaboration technology our clients can access and visualise their projects rich datasets in interactive 3-dimensional space overlaying multiple data points onto virtual replicas of real-world projects to make informed decisions on project optimisations before committing to lengthy and often costly construction programmes.
Of course, AI is being talked about a lot these days, this is not lost on our team, and we are looking forward to developing and integrating AI into Revizto in the future to further enhance our client use and experience of our platform.
