How Implenia Switzerland AG Breaks Down Silo Mentality and Takes Collaboration to the Next Level
The new construction of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital is a flagship project in the Swiss healthcare industry. With state-of-the-art technology and patient-oriented architecture, it sets new standards. Behind this ambitious endeavour is Implenia Switzerland AG, a leading construction and construction services company. Patric Sommer, Senior BIM Manager at Implenia, and his team relied on Revizto for planning to master the challenges of such a complex project.
As a general contractor for the new construction of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital with the project name 'Dreiklang', we are active across all phases and trades. This places high demands on our digital solutions.
The Challenge
Implenia faced three central challenges:
Cross-phase management:
Coordinating all phases in a single environment was essential.
Integrating all participants:
Project managers, contractors, users, and the client needed to be actively involved in the digital workflow.
Efficient task management:
For a large-scale project of this magnitude, the workload had to be divided into manageable stages.
The Solution: Revizto
Revizto proved to be the ideal solution to overcome these challenges. With Revizto, specialist groups could be formed, thus breaking down silos. In the area of fire safety planning, for example, architects, fire safety QA, MEP specialists, and the fire safety contractor worked together in the coordination model. This allowed all comments, tasks, and project changes to be recorded and managed in a unified environment.

This allows us to continue the digital chain and improve the efficiency, collaboration, and coordination of the entire project.
Concrete Benefits
Revizto brought numerous benefits to the project team:
Through the cross-phase use of Revizto, processes from planning to handover of the digital twin could be improved. Silos were broken down, and complex planning projects were handled in a model-based manner by interdisciplinary specialist groups. Thanks to plan overlay, even 2D plan checking could be carried out directly in the same environment with the Issue Tracker, both 3D and 2D-based.
BIM2Field to be Taken to the Next Level
Implenia is also working to push the boundaries of digital construction. The next step being to take BIM2Field to a new level through fully BIM-based prefabrication and fabrication planning. This innovative approach should make it possible to continue the digital chain consistently, thus further optimizing the efficiency of collaboration and coordination for the entire project.
The ease of use of Revizto makes it possible to introduce all parties involved in a project to the BIM method and thus create a common understanding of the building.

Conclusion
Revizto helped the team to better master the challenges of hospital construction and take collaboration to a new level. The software proved to be a valuable tool for breaking down silos, optimizing processes, and increasing efficiency. This created a culture of cross-team collaboration within the project team, raising cooperation and communication to a new level.
For Patric Sommer, the Clash Automation, task management, and personalized viewpoints provided the most added value. Revizto enables the entire team to access, visualize, and work with project data daily - all in real-time.
