I’m ready to use Revizto. How do I install it and learn how to use it?
See how Revizto fits your workflow
Installing Revizto is straightforward, but a few setup steps make the difference between a smooth install and a frustrating one. See below for everything you need to know before starting Revizto and what to do next at the Revizto Academy.
Quick summary
To install Revizto on Windows, close any open 2D or 3D authoring software first, then run the Revizto installer. The installer automatically installs the plugins needed to publish from those authoring tools, so you do not need to install them separately.
Mobile and tablet users can install the original Revizto mobile app and the new Revizto site app side by side, since each offers different features.
Before you install Revizto on Windows
Before running the installer, make sure the authoring tools you use to publish 2D sheets and 3D models are both installed on your machine and fully closed.
This matters for two reasons:
- Revizto installs plugins for these authoring tools as part of the setup process, and it needs to write to them while they are not in use.
- Publishing directly from authoring software, and installing the plugins that support it, is currently only supported on Windows devices.
Installing Revizto on Mac? If you are on Mac or another platform, you can still use Revizto's core collaboration features, but plugin-based publishing from authoring tools is a Windows-only capability.

How plugin installation works
You do not need to track down and install Revizto plugins on your own. When you install Revizto on Windows, the relevant plugins are installed automatically as part of the same process, provided your authoring tools were already installed and closed beforehand.
This is why the pre-install check above matters: if an authoring tool is missing or still open, its plugin may not install correctly.
Installing Revizto on iPads and tablets
Tablet users have two apps to choose from, and you're not limited to just one.
Revizto 5 is the original mobile app (the name will update to Revizto 6 once that version releases). It closely mirrors the main desktop app, reformatted for tablet screens, so it's a good fit for users who want the full depth of desktop features while away from their workstation.
Revizto site app is a simplified, field-focused alternative. It's built for quick, on-the-go use and works well on smaller touchscreens, including phones, not just tablets.
Both apps can be installed on the same iPad or tablet at the same time. Many teams keep both installed and switch between them depending on the task at hand.
System and network requirements
Revizto's system and network requirements are reviewed and updated regularly, so it's worth checking the current specifications in the Revizto Help Center before you install, rather than relying on requirements you may have seen previously.
Minimum vs. recommended requirements
Revizto's performance is directly tied to the hardware running it, so matching your setup to your project size matters:
- Minimum requirements: suitable for smaller projects run at lower graphical settings.
- Recommended requirements: better suited to larger projects and higher graphical settings.
If you're working on large, complex models or coordinating across multiple disciplines, planning for the recommended specifications will give you more consistent performance than the minimum.
All installed? Now it’s time for the Academy
With Revizto installed, the next step is learning how to get the most out of it.
The Revizto Academy is Revizto's dedicated home for training and self-paced learning, built for both new users finding their footing and experienced teams looking to sharpen specific workflows. Rather than working things out through trial and error, you can move through structured lessons at your own pace and come back to them whenever a new project calls for a refresher.
