Welcome to our first blog post of 2026. I want to take this opportunity, as part of our new 5.17 release series, to introduce myself. I’m Marc Schütz, and I'm Revizto’s new Chief Product Officer.

I’ve spent most of my career building products that sit at the intersection of complex technology and real people doing real work. Over nearly 20 years, that’s taken me from working on data exchange and end to end process integration of 3D CAD, launching the Augmented Reality Suite Vuforia at PTC to leading product teams for Bentley Systems’ iTwin digital twin products.

What’s mattered most to me is making complex, powerful technology feel practical, intuitive, and genuinely helpful for the people using it every day. That belief is what drew me to Revizto, where I’m focused on helping project teams stay ahead of complexity.

Here at Revizto, we are building a collaboration hub that doesn’t just keep pace with the construction industry, with the latest projections forecasting the industry will grow to $22 trillion by 2040, but actively helps teams stay ahead. 5.17 is an important step change in the right direction, and I’m very excited to share what this release represents.

While you may have already seen announcements highlighting individual features - such as Linear Navigation - this post is about stepping back and looking at 5.17 as a whole. This release was driven by what we consistently hear from our users: navigating complex models can be hard, coordinating across teams can be messy, and small inefficiencies add up quickly on real projects. In fact, 45% of AEC leaders have said project budgets typically overrun by 11-20%, despite built-in contingencies (Revizto 'Bridging the Gap’ 2025), due to things like change orders, design errors, and poor communication and coordination.

So what’s in the 5.17 release?

5.17 introduces a set of enhancements focused on usability, navigation, collaboration, and scalability. Together, these updates create a smoother, more intuitive experience for everyone involved in a project - from architects and engineers to BIM managers.

More intuitive navigation for infrastructure projects
New navigation capabilities, including Linear Navigation, make it easier to understand and move through complex 2D and 3D environments, helping teams maintain context on large, linear, or highly segmented projects like railways, motorways or tunnels among others.

Revizto’s Linear Navigation is going to be game changing. Instead of spending hours manually creating viewpoints across kilometers of track, we’ll be able to explore sections instantly. With driver views and signal sighting, we’ll gain accuracy and efficiency like never before.

A smoother everyday user experience

Interface refinements and usability improvements make everyday navigation faster and more intuitive. With the enhanced 2D/3D view, you can move instantly from a 2D drawing to the exact location in the 3D model. This gives you immediate spatial context, helping you understand the design faster while staying focused on your 2D workflow.

Improved model confidence and alignment

New features such as Local Preview, allow stakeholders to locally explore and validate design changes by exporting work-in-progress Revit views into Revizto. These private, temporary scenes are visible only to the user, enabling rapid visual checks and clash reviews without affecting the shared project or other team members.

Stronger cross-team coordination
Enhancements continue to support clearer communication and more efficient issue management across disciplines, reinforcing Revizto’s role as a shared coordination space for the entire project team.

Scalability you can rely on
Performance and stability improvements ensure Revizto remains responsive and reliable as projects grow in size, complexity, and stakeholder involvement.

5.17 reflects how we’re thinking about Revizto’s future; not just adding features, but removing friction, reducing uncertainty, and helping teams concentrate on the work that truly matters. This release marks an important milestone, while also being part of a longer journey shaped by how our customers work today—and where the industry is headed next.

I’m excited about the future of Revizto, and grateful to be helping to shape it alongside such a passionate community of users. Keep an eye out for future blog posts on 5.17, whereby we’ll be digging deeper into the collaboration and workflow improvements.
